We refer to the Article in The New Straits Times, appearing on Page 2 in the Business Section, entitled “Unofficial Nod for Merger Talks” dated 5 August 2015, in particular the following highlighted statement mentioned in the Article:-

“Malaysia Building Society Berhad (“MBSB”) has verbally received Bank Negara Malaysia’s nod to talk to Bank Muamalat on possible merger that will create the country’s largest standalone Islamic Bank.”

We wish to clarify that MBSB is not aware of any official consent or otherwise made by Bank Negara Malaysia in relation to the abovesaid.
