We refer to the earlier announcements in relation to the Proposed Merger. Unless otherwise stated, the terms used herein shall have the same meaning as defined in the earlier announcements in relation to the Proposed Merger.

On behalf of the Board, AmInvestment Bank and RHB Investment Bank wish to announce that the First Tranche Transfer is deemed completed today.

Consequent to the First Tranche Transfer, the Proposed Sukuk Exchange has also been completed following the successful issuance of AFB Structured Covered Sukuk in exchange for the MBSB Covered Sukuk held by the MBSB Sukukholders.

As stated in the circular dated 31 December 2017, the subsequent tranches of the Proposed Transfer of Identified A&L and the disposal of the Residual A&L are expected to be completed within three (3) years from today. 

In addition, the Board wishes to announce that the wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company, Asian Finance Bank Berhad, has changed its name to MBSB Bank Berhad with effect from 2 April 2018 being the date of the Notice of Registration on Change of Name of Company issued by the Companies Commission of Malaysia.
